A busy year for new show opportunities:
Solo show at Toomey-Tourell in San Francisco,
Group show at Cumberland Gallery in Nashville,
Group show at Gallery 101 in Brooklyn,
Representation at Aqua Miami.
Let's hope some of this stuff sells, because it was fun sending it out into the world, and would be depressing to get it all back! Especially some !*@# huge pieces I sent to SF in a crate.

DE/CONSTRUCT II COMING UP THIS APRIL

DE/CONSTRUCT II COMING UP THIS APRIL
CALL TO ARTISTS!

The de/construct show in 2007 was a great success (see "installations"), so I’ve decided to have another one. It has to happen pretty fast since the loft renovation is – finally! – really going to start. Here is the call for entries:

Theme: architecture.
Application deadline Feb 22, 2009, decisions March 1st. Exhibition opens: Fri, March 27
The loft (approx. 2200 sq. ft.) in the jewelry district is slated for renovation. We have the opportunity to alter walls and doors, which makes the project ideal for site-specific installations. Free standing sculpture and wall pieces (paintings, photos, etc.) will also be considered. The project is cooperative in that artists must contribute in some way such as helping with publicity, graphic design, being present during gallery hours, etc. See attached floor plan and photo.
Please submit: a resume, artist’s statement, no more than 20 images in slides or jpegs, and a one-page proposal for the project. The proposal should indicate your concept and its relationship to the theme, and specifics about its installation. We will have about 3 1/2 weeks to install.
